When I travel, I always take music with me in a high definition media player. Separate from my phone, not streaming. I have a tasty collection of lossless audio, tons of local music, rare albums, stuff I purchase direct from the artist, etc. I used to have a Fiio X1, but currently use a HiBy M300.

You mean listen to your local music files on your phone ? Android or iOS ? Personally, I use AIMP when I'm on my phone (but I have a DAP player for my local music). A popular player is Poweramp.

So the nice thing about CDs unlike vinyl is I can at least theoretically take it on the road with me. So tonight's travel listen is Yes! by local hiphop darling K-Os. As an album, yeah this really holds up. Though I think I will continue to use my phone for transit music. #nowplaying #CD #hiphop

Holding a CD player at the bus stop, transparent cover shows it is loaded with the album Yes by K-Os

been getting my local music library into shape as I'm canceling my streaming (Apple Music) to get back to the old ways of, y'know, having direct control over music while working on the new story today I threw on Anri's "Timely!!" & I just need to state again for the record how much that album slaps

Oh yeah. The Plex library is coming along nicely.

Screenshot of the Plex app. The "Music" tab is selected. Other tabs are: Home, Audiobooks, TV Shows, Movies, Music Videos, Playlists, Discover, Live TV, Movies & Shows (On Plex), and Downloads.

The "Music" library shows 3.25 rows of albums sorted by artists. Almost all three rows are Beyoncé albums and singles.

Never EVER throw away your old CDs. I had a hankerin' to listen to the AKIRA OST and every version on YouTUbe is knackered. I said to myself "f it, I'll buy it on Amazon Music," and no go there, either. I dug it out of our cavernous CD collection and ripped it so I will never face this issue again
