Regarding Xbox

In June 2026 we announced that the release of Big Walk would be limited to computers, Switch 2 and PS5. Since then, we have received many messages and comments, asking about a future Xbox release. We would like to address those questions here:

We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target. If you need help understanding our motives, we would recommend reading about why Microsoft is a BDS priority target, the successes this kind of pressure has already had on Microsoft, and especially, watching this great introductory piece by People Make Games.

It has always been our intention for Big Walk to be played by groups of friends, and we know that keeping the game off Xbox runs counter to those intentions. This decision means that some people will miss out on playing Big Walk with their friends, and we understand the disappointment we’re causing. We are disappointed too.

We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.

We’ve made this decision with the belief that meaningful change can be made in the world, that coordinated collective action can confront even the most powerful interests, and that one day, Palestine will be free.

And for the record, I only got the Epic Launcher so I could play Super Meat Boy Forever on launch day back in 2020, and I haven’t used it in nearly 5 years outside of Unreal Engine. That’s also getting uninstalled

I keep being told “Every dev is using AI now!”, or “AI-assisted programming will be a part of every game in the next few years!”, even from people close in my life who also hate it, but it only becomes true if you let it. I will do everything in my power to keep all of my games genAI-free.

I’m away from my computer for the next few days, but once I get home I’m uninstalling Unreal Engine for good I already stopped using it over Godot because I learned the latter much faster, but good LORD This level of genAI does not belong anywhere near gamedev, ever

1) This isn't about generating games or assets with AI, it's just about using automation tools for some processes like bug testing which isn't inherently bad 2) IGN should be embarrassed for this headline. It doesn't say "AI generation" as in generative AI, it's 世代, "generation" as in "time period"

2027 already feels hand-crafted to be my favorite year of gaming ever

All things considered, it’s kind of a Justin Roiland scenario where he’s barely done anything for the show over the past 5 years besides voice acting, so if he does step down (which he really really should) then it wouldn’t really have a huge impact on the show

I have an unconventional solution to the loneliness crisis and the erasure of third spaces...
