Sunday afternoon and my first time baking in ages. Hit up @nationaltrust.org.uk ‘s 70 biscuit recipes to make Cragside Crackles and dark chocolate crinkles. Tried one of the Cragside ones and there’s a nice mix of spice in there

I’m annoyed at myself - I missed a Distant Worlds email so only realised it’s back at the Royal Albert Hall for the 40th anniversary of Final Fantasy when I got an email from RAH today. Just barely scraped in with a seat at the back of a second tier box but I can’t miss this experience

Just caught up on Strictly. Pretty good start to the series. Will I think underscored due to being so early, Katya absolutely got the best out of John, and Delta nailed that samba. Think I’d prefer Jojo and Josh to swap roles, Emma is of course perfect.

Even when you don’t try it’s easy to do 10000 steps a day in London. Wandered to Westminster pier, headed to Greenwich and around there, headed back and done. I didn’t even have to head up the big hill

After terrible luck with the gachapon at the Bandai Namco store in Camden (2 the same and not the one I wanted) I nailed it with the blind boxes at Pop Mart. I absolutely wanted rainbow Thor and Loid from Spy Family.

My blind boxes - 2 little models. One is Thor bursting h the rough the rainbow bridge with an ice covered mjolnir. The other is Loid Forger (Twilight) from Spy Family sitting at a table eating breakfast.

First day of a long weekend in London yesterday. I headed to Southend and walked along the longest pier in the world. Then headed back to London on the only sea going paddle steamer - The Waverley. Great views, and lots of steps!

The sky decided to be very melodramatic on the east coast today - lunchtime at Mablethorpe.

So having now fully read the new Teen Titans comic I love it. The art is good, the story shows promise, the kids are behaving like kids, and Red Hood is exhibiting his protective streak and carrying guns. A good Jason Todd story in 2026 - it’s a miracle!

My first visit to Topping & Sons bookshop in York. Every bit as nice as the one in Bath - sprawling with their custom bookshelves and library ladders. And I don’t take advantage but they’ll bring you a pot of tea in lovely Polish pottery whilst you wander.

So… the BFI IMAX in London is showing The Odyssey until September 10th so far. And every single screening is fully sold out! I’m waiting to see if they get it running until end of September as I’ve never seen a film on IMAX and I’m there later in the month

Someone my brother works with was getting rid of an XBox Series X - 2 controllers with charging dock, all cables, and the original box. And they only wanted £150 - so I grabbed that right away for no reason other than to be able to play improved Final Fantasy XIII trilogy.
