Follow the path into CRTD and visit us at the zebrafish 🐟 exhibition of the #LNDWDD @cmcb-tud.bsky.social
An indoor staircase with concrete steps, a silver metal handrail, and a bright lime-green wall. Next to the base of the stairs is a white pillar with a small directional sign attached, pointing toward a tiled hallway in the background.Several papers taped to a bright blue door or wall. At the top is a sign reading "Essen und Trinken Verboten" (No eating or drinking) with a crossed-out drink and burger icon. Below it are four identical formatted informational sheets arranged side-by-side, and at the bottom is a handwritten note on a white piece of paper that reads "Eingang" (Entrance).A person standing in profile wearing a bright pink axolotl onesie costume, holding the costume's tail. They are standing in a classroom or presentation room in front of a white table. Projected on the wall behind them is a presentation slide in German titled "Die Entwicklung des Zebrafischs" (The Development of the Zebrafish), showing a circular microscopic image of a zebrafish embryo alongside the Technische Universität Dresden logo.

“Hence, after spinal cord injury, a pro-regenerative neutrophil subpopulation promotes spinal cord regeneration in larval zebrafish by controlling expression of il1b in macrophages/microglia. For this neutrophil action, il4 expression is necessary & sufficient.” New from @beckergroup.bsky.social 🐟

Are you interested on how regenerating tissues transit between stages? Am sharing here our work showing that during #Xenopus tail regeneration, tissue stiffening activates a Piezo1-Yap1 mechanosensitive cascade to allow wounded epithelia to transit into regenerative states!

Zebrafish larvae are really good for time lapses. Just take some popcorns enjoy them like if they were movies. Here you can see with your own eyes how immune cells divide. This one I call it "Divide and flee" #spinalcordregeneration #zebrafish #timelapse #microglia

Ready for a deep dive? 🐟🔬 Explore "Zebrafish in action: Tiny fish, big science" at the Long Night of Science Dresden this Friday, June 20th, from 5 PM to midnight! We're on the 3rd floor at CRTD. See how these small fish lead to big breakthroughs in science. #LNDWDD #zebrafish @cmcb-tud.bsky.social
An artistic and colorful illustration promoting "Long Night of Science Dresden." The image features two striped fish (likely zebrafish) swimming amidst swirls of blue, orange, and purple smoky elements. Various scientific motifs are present, including test tubes filled with red liquid, floating bubbles, a microscope, and what appears to be a stylized eye. The overall impression is dynamic and visually engaging, representing scientific exploration and discovery.

The first work of my PhD is OUT 🎆 star-protocols.cell.com/protocols/38... In this work, we share with the community our protocol for preparation, clearing and visualization of adult 🦓🐟 spinal cords structures that has been tested, refined and used quite frequently in our lab.
A Star Protocols graphical abstract of the steps for the preparation, clearing and visualization of adult zebrafish spinal cords, together with alternative uses for these samples (e.g. cryosectioning and immunohistochemistry of reverted sectioned samples).

Macrophage crosstalk with neural progenitors and fibroblasts controls regenerative neurogenesis via Sema4ab after spinal cord injury in zebrafish
After spinal cord injury, interactions of multiple tissues inhibit neuronal regeneration in mammals, but not in anamniotes, such as zebrafish. These pivotal interactions are poorly understood. Here we...
