The fact that DB hasn't doubled tracked this in advance of the works to add a third track between Oberhausen and Emmerich was short-sighted. Even if it was done in part, that'd been better than now. But that's no surprise.

You do see some different things whilst waiting for your Up train to London. An empty stock Chiltern train off to Arriva Traincare (presumably for refurbishment) and a Lumo train to Motherwell!

I watched a YouTube video yesterday that implied that to get a pension in the US you have to be working at your retirement date, otherwise you get nothing. Can this be true? In the UK, your occupational pension is built up for your benefit.

If you have an Interrail 1st Class, you need a reservation to travel on Elron, the operator of trains in Estonia. This isn't something you can book online sadly. "Please email us with a copy of your Interrail and journey info" *10 minutes later* "Here's your reservation* Nice! 🥰
