So it turns out this needs saying: not liking Florence Price’s music doesn’t mean you won’t like music composed by other black composers…. Such riches to discover 🎶 🥰 1/2

Congratulations to @aoyarzabal.bsky.social for this resounding support for his album: piano music by British women composers (forthcoming 2027). This will be the first recording of many of the pieces 😀 🎹 ♥️

BIG recommend to this short, very moving thread. ‘Illegal immigration’ is a harsh, catch-all term that obscures the humanity, the care that can lie behind global mobility

Hot weather tip: my partner bought some reflective sheets and today put them on the outside of our south-facing windows (securing them by shutting the window). 🔆 Cheap and effective 😀

My hilarious, brilliant daughter is staying. She has long covid too. We played badminton on the landing! Yes, adjustments were made. We knelt and it was a 2 minutes session with a half-time breathing break. But brilliant all the same 🏸 ♥️ 😂. Happy to report we’re still hopeless 😄 #longcovid ✊

Baby greenfinch on our feeder this morning - great surprise! #gardenbirds #greenfinch Our son bought me a feeder to give me a sense of connection to the garden and outside. It also has a live feed which I especially love ♥️ Not cheap, but BIG recommend if you’re #housebound #longcovid ✊

#longcovid and #CFSME are physiological illnesses so it’s not surprising that brain-training is largely rejected by these communities. But to rule out any brain/mind exacerbation, I’m trying one of the apps. It’s very useful! Full of practical tips, & it acknowledges physiological issues. 1/2

This photo was in The Guardian ‘Pictures of the Week’. I can only hope that the photographer sat down next to the young woman to provide at least some moral support.

The revelations of re-connecting concerts to the body, using an early modern model of playing and performing. Audiences free to express the emotions the music evokes through noise and movement. Performers liberated from static positions to play in comfort, opening up new kinds of expressivity.
