I am searching for strategies to reduce the complexity of #AI generated #code. And all articles just suggest to do better reviews. What?

So, now that #Trakt is going further downhill, I decided to move to Scrob. Setup took 20 min, imported everything from Trakt (export your data now, before they make it VIP-only!). Working like a charm, even with Jellyfin. Highly recommend! 🤩 github.com/ellite/scrob

It's just incredibly hostile behavior what the team of #Trakt is doing. Deleted my API application that I was using for over a year. Disabled the OneDrive export of my data. All without a single notification. Whoever is in charge there: fuck you. I delete my account.

In some parallel universe, we have all agreed on 2026-08-06 being the one and only date format. Sadly we are in this universe, where Lucidchart shows the confusing US format despite having all locale options set to German. 🙄

#Claude replicates human behavior, sadly the bad ones too. 😐 My local Agent configuration contains strict working rules. After breaking those rules multiple times, Claude explained it's just a habit and rewording the rules would probably not help. Well....

I thought about moving to #Codeberg a few times already, even donated to support their cause. But I find it deeply worrying that a platform dedicated to free software now starts to dictate which software is allowed. Feels like some neckbeard AI-haters turned Codeberg into a weapon.

Ford has rehired hundreds of senior engineers after replacing them with AI backfired and has cost the company billions of dollars. AI adoption is blamed for Ford being the most recalled automaker in the U.S. with 51 recalls covering over 11 million vehicles in the first half of 2026 alone.

Is anyone else working with #Codex 5.5 and noticed that this model loves to make everything as complex as possible? Like why put the solution into a 20 line function when you can get 20 functions instead, each filled to the brim with complicated code?! 😐 #aihorror #aicoding

Kevin Woblick @kevin.woblick.com · 29/05/2026
People praise the newest models like #Codex 5.5, yet I encounter many significant logic holes in what they produce. And it's tedious to explain all the context to a bot that forgets it three prompts later. #AI is not the answer to most of the problems we have today, not even that of limited time.

This works considerably better. I feel like I'm more productive but still have plenty of time left. I thought that leaving larger tasks on the desk and looking at them the next day would be bad, but it's pretty much doable. No demanding focus shifts. 💪

I was kinda burnt-out at the end of last year. I felt like there's so much to do, yet too little to to tackle anything. For the past two months, I've been experimenting with the "1% rule": instead of few heavy lifts, I did smaller things but like every day. #opensource #maintainers #coding

No wonder that so many services get hacked. Currently figuring out a Hashicorp #Vault setup and the first tutorial I find just disables mlock (needed for a production server!) and grants privileged access to the #Docker container. And it gets even worse: #Codex suggested the same. WTF?!

I am really torn between letting #AI tackle tasks that I just don't have the time for, or doing it on my own and push through. Throwing AI on issues may solve a problem, but introduces holes in your #knowledge about and #maintainability of the code. I can't be the only one. 🫠
