Strange rocks in fog. I called this one ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’.

It’s such a cliché to quote Masefield next to a photo of the sea, but here I am going for it too, because this photo has always reminded me of these words: ‘And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.’

Lighthouse reflected. Lighthouses might be my favourite type of building. The first recorded lighthouse was the Pharos of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Pharos was built in around 280 BC and was 450 feet high, making it also the tallest one ever built. 1/2 🧵
