Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

there was a shooting three blocks from the elementary school where i work and they havent caught one of the shooters so the neighborhood and school is on lockdown but my shift starts in an hour, and i get to go walk to school thru these suddenly scary streets this is america

its soup szn! my husband made caldo verde and i am consuming it with verve! potatoes and kale and onion and sausage and broth and autumn joy simmered together while the radiator clanks away in the corner of the living room. i cleaned the shower which badly needed it and on to laundry and sheets
