Definitely agree. I remember thinking when it was announced that the original story tied itself up so neatly, I couldn't imagine where it was headed. And then Echoes of the Eye just flawless layered into and on top of the original story.

I was kind of surprised by how much I loved Nightreign, because I too went through Elden Ring once and never came back. The amount of effort it took to upgrade a new weapon to relevancy felt painful, and while the bosses were certainly flashy, only a small handful felt like memorable *fights*

Wait, nope, a friend factchecked me on that. Euphony, raid exotic for Salvation's Edge - the barrel is made of two elongated hand shapes, and it has a hand holding up the sights. (Distorted hand statues were a whole thing in that expansion)

The exotic-rarity gun "Euphony" from Destiny 2: The Final Shape. It features multiple distorted, statue-like hands as part of its design.

I've been enjoying the flipside of that too - I'm 2-for-3 as a rook on the non-Rook team just letting me into the exfil with them, no violence needed, and saying GG on the way out. Since it's one team in a big map, it's really easy to just keep away until then.

It helps that, while Rooks can join in on your run, they're *heavily* discouraged from picking a fight with a team, being an inherent 1v3 with less abilities. Most of them will just do their best to stay out of your way and sneak by, or will be outright friendly. They're really just little guys.

I've been playing a lot of Titanium Court lately, and it is a game that loves to not tell you something up until the moment it can kill you. I died a few runs back to not knowing a boat could shoot over a rock. But it's so damn stylish and keeps throwing so much new stuff at you, so, whatever!

But you won't have every kid in America reading your book. They will look at it, and they will see straight through it, with their clear, cold, beady little eyes, and they will put it down, and they will go away. Kids will devour vast amounts of garbage (and it is good for them) but they are not like adults: they have not yet learned to eat plastic.

Twitter had the same energy well before Musk took over. Reddit has a perpetual history of despising its admins. There's chain-posts every month on Facebook decrying its latest changes. We could draw a line back to Something Awful honestly. I can't say it's "healthy", but it's not uncommon.
