A huge house spider has moved into my bedroom, one of those big ones you can hear walking about. I’m trying to live peaceably with him but he was starfished on a windowpane this morning which was NOT a sight to wake up to. Told him I’d hoover him up for capture/release so I haven’t seen him since.

My parents smoke alarm has been going off randomly, concerns about battery etc etc ... however now that I’ve removed said smoke alarm for inspection, it’s probably because it’s from NOV 2001. They didn’t even live in this house in 2001.

I’ve had two nightmares in the last 6 days; one where my spreadsheets were wrong so I didn’t get paid, & an extremely specific one where my phone battery expanded so I had to find out how to safely dispose of it & no-one could tell me. Just so we’re all clear on where my mind is at right now.

All year I’ve been turning up at 2pm for a 2:30 class, along with everyone else, and the last two weeks, I’m turning up at 2pm and everyone else rocks up at 2:20. Love having twenty minutes to panic about whether it’s cancelled/rescheduled.

The pro photos from the championships have gone up and my dog looks SO cute and happy and buff, but I can’t afford to drop uhhh several £100 on photos :| Instead, a photo that I took and treasure of both girls actively loathing me for making them pose with their rosettes.

Even if nothing else is going right, I feel like the girls are on track to peak next week for the Championships. Been building all summer, pushing hard this last two weeks with their last big walk scheduled for Monday. Then it’ll be Tues/Weds rest days to race Speed Trials Thursday.

I’m going to have to start keeping some kind of record of what cakes I’ve baked and whether they were any good. I *think* the chocolate coffee cake was the most successful recently but where did I get the recipe from? The Bundt (pictured) was prettier but a little dry.

If you want to read more non-fiction, asking for sweeping recommendations isn’t really going to find books you enjoy. Non-fiction is such a huge sphere! I love recommending books but even just knowing what kind of *fiction* you like helps to rec something that you’d maybe enjoy.

My Flyball team is racing tomorrow and the tournament organisers have already put limits in place and changed the racing start time to mitigate for the heat. A+ love this! Do not love now getting up at 4:30am. My dogs aren’t even racing.

If you’re writing a quintessential British book, you cannot have a character mention that the Bake Off semi final is on, and then Crufts the other day. Crufts is always at the beginning of March, and Bake Off has always been an autumn show. Unacceptable; I know you have fact checkers, famous author.
