I'm on all of them except Root, for which i recently deleted my account. While Stoat looks better, Fluxer is currently my "preference" despite its rough look. Matrix has one heck of a learning curve & serious issues on the main Matrix.org instance. I use a smaller instance.

Stoat & Fluxer are currently high contenders. Stoat is based in UK & hasn't been altogether transparent about user data & AV, last i knew. Fluxer is based in Europe with a single dev who's doing their best. It's not pretty but it's fully functional. Matrix is its own wilderness Root is Discord.2
