A key point which few have noticed yet... Tory voters have already shifted a lot. Polling shows they back Burnham's pledge to consider closer relations. And a third back joining again. This is a major problem for Badenoch's supposed "recapture the centre" strategy.

Happy #AutumnEquinox 🍂 We celebrated it last night in the sparkling company of the great author Kate Mosse, who was promoting her new book, aptly titled Autumn. The beautiful book is a love letter to Sussex and its wonderful natural heritage as the seasons turn. Worth a read!  #booksky #autumn

We are celebrating one of nature’s most spectacular showstoppers: the dahlia. These bold blooms come in a rainbow of colours and shapes, bringing bursts of pink, purple, red and gold to September gardens. We can’t get enough!

Andy Burnham: UK must fully commit to reaching net zero by 2050
Exclusive: PM, who is facing pressure over whether to approve North Sea oil and gasfields, makes strongest comments yet on issue * British people understand the climate crisis threat. Today I’m empowering them to tackle it * UK politics live – latest updates The UK must fully commit to reaching net zero by 2050, Andy Burnham has argued in his strongest comments yet on the issue, saying it is no longer possible for Britons to believe they are not already affected by a changing climate. Writing for the Guardian about new plans for a mass of community-led local green energy projects, the prime minister said the UK must “believe in itself”, and set out his determination to reach net zero targets, which have been rejected by the Conservatives and Reform UK. Black text on white page that reads:

Whether you call it New York City, Nueva Yol, or PueblaYork, Hispanic and Latino New Yorkers are at the heart of the city we love.

From the labor activism of Luisa Moreno, to the marches of the Young Lords in the South Bronx in 1969.

From Juan Rodriguez, a free, mixed-race Dominican sailor who became the first non-indigenous resident of Manhattan in 1613, to Jose Alvarado, NYCHA's very own Knicks Champion.

From the Nuyorican Poets Café on the Lower East Side, to Toñita's in Williamsburg, New York City would not be New York City without its Hispanic Heritage.

And yet, more than three-quarters of Latino New Yorkers struggle to afford living in New York City. As we mark Hispanic Heritage Month, we remember that Hispanic and Latino families must be at the heart of our affordability agenda.

I’m sorry, but I do not comment on sharks biting people. These are animals not only older than dinosaurs, but older than trees. They have amazing adaptations. They’re ecologically vital. Many are threatened. I’m happy to talk about that! Falling flowerpots kill more humans than sharks do!

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

Pollinators are disappearing. And with them, our food security. One in five native pollinator species in well-studied regions now faces elevated extinction risk. Yet every flowering plant we protect, every chemical we refuse, every hive we build is an act of resistance.
