Solutions like UBI make Canada more resilient to US economic warfare. They dampen the effect of tariffs and businesses pulling out of Canada. We will not beat the US by playing their games, we beat them by rebuilding our society into one that cares for people.

Liberal MP Bruce Fanjoy from the Ottawa-area riding or Carleton is breaking ranks with the Carney government on its Return to Office policy for public servants: “There is little to no evidence that a one-size-fits-all RTO policy will improve productivity or service to Canadians”
Bruce Fanjoy:

Statement Regarding the Return to Office Policy
February 9*, 2026
On February 5th, 2026, the federal government announced an updated Return-to-Office
(RTO) policy for federal public servants. Today, I am calling upon the government to reconsider this policy for the following reasons:
1. The new RTO policy makes it harder to achieve the government's priorities of reducing the operating cost of government, improving affordability, and respecting the environment. Instead, it will cost both the government and citizens more and increase pollution.
2. There is little to no evidence that a one-size-fits-all RTO policy will improve productivity or service to Canadians.
3. The RTO policy makes it harder for public servants to balance work with other responsibilities.
I believe Canada is better served by a hybrid model that balances a mix of in-office and remote work. The right balance is flexible and depends on circumstances. Done well, a hybrid model reduces the cost of government and benefits workers and all Canadians.
To my constituents in Carleton, I hear you. I will continue to press for solutions that work for you and all Canadians.
Sincerely,
Bruce Fanjoy
Member of Parliament for Carleton

Abysmal statement from Canada on the illegal US action in Venezuela. It doesn’t matter how much you dislike Maduro, that doesn’t justify a violation of international law and the UN Charter. You can’t call on “all parties” to respect international law and not call out US lawlessness.

Government of Mexico:

“The Government of Mexico condemns and strongly rejects the military actions carried out unilaterally in the last few hours by the armed forces of the United States of America against targets in the territory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in clear violation of Article 2 of the Charter of the United Nations (UN).”

Long before the Toronto Blue Jays reached the World Series in 2025, or even won the title in 1992 and 1993, Canada had another world champion team. Back in 1877, the London Tecumsehs became Canada's first international interleague baseball champions. This is their story. 🧵 1/10
A black-and-white historical photograph of a baseball team posing in two rows. The front row consists of five seated players, and the back row has five standing players. Most players wear white uniforms with a large "T" on the chest, long pants, and knee-high socks. Some wear caps or hats, and one player in the front row holds a baseball bat. The image has a vintage, early 20th-century style with formal posing and serious expressions.

It is said that baseball is America's Pastime, but the first recorded baseball game in North American history happened north of their border. It was way back in 1838 when two teams came together in a cow pasture near present-day Beachville, Ontario. This is the story. 🧵 1/7
A welcome sign for Beachville, featuring the text "Welcome to Beachville" in green and "Home of the FIRST RECORDED BASEBALL GAME 1838" in a circular design. The sign includes an illustration of a vintage baseball player holding a bat. Additional smaller signs are attached, including ones for Scouts Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion, and Girl Guides of Canada, with a road and greenery in the background.
