I grew up in Germany... I am now an American author, and I am FOREVER arguing with my spellcheck that more things should be compound words. My favorite compound German word? Das Fachwerkhaus(er). It means 'cross timbered house'. Runner up- Baumwolle. Tree+Wool= Cotton.

Scheduling my next infusion (for my chronic, intractable migraine disorder- hiiieee!) told lovely infusion nurse I work from home. She said- yeah, most her patients (MS, autoimmune, headache) do, and/or work for themselves. oof. I mean... yeah... but ...oof. What I'd change for this community.

Please please call your reps about Rumeysa Ozturk. She was kidnapped by ICE in broad daylight by undercover officers, and within hours was 1300 miles from home. She committed no crime. She wrote an op-ed for a school paper and spoke out against war crimes. That is NOT a crime.
