This is a test print I did with my daughter over the weekend. Teaching a 7-year old about print culture and critical making is just fab!

I got to play with new-to-me skills & 3D print a composing stick yesterday. My new Scottish Lit module will spend time on manuscript & early print, so I’m putting together a little hands-on activity. Thanks to @aelang.bsky.social for the encouragement to have a go with this ‘newfangled’ technology!

The Middle English Reading Group finished Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. We started in September 2025, reading for an hour a week during the semesters. So proud of all the MERGers who stuck with it & were surprised at the appropriate places! Celebratory cake in order.

Pretty pleased with this as a first attempt. Have given myself many notes, not least practising a steady hand with a very fine brush
