Okay I don't remember how/why Imzadi came up (or if it was over at Tumblr), but they had it in hard cover at the library book sale, so now I have it. (There were probably 30 Star Trek paper backs that I was not motivated enough to compare with the already-owned list.)

Yeah, the downside of an everything bagel is that the everything gets everywhere.

Unpopped popcorn - not the kernels at the bottom of a bowl of popcorn, but straight out of the container of kernels. Usually just one, like it was hard candy.

We are diving headlong into my preferred weather season (high 60s daytime/above freezing overnight), which also means we have entered "when do we take out the window a/c?" guessing season.

Got a bag of gingergold apples at the grocery and it's a good thing they were only 99 cents/lb. because they are sad.

Ugh we're up to 98% humidity and my shirt feels damp. I'm not even outside.

The cat does not understand that I cannot stay in bed all day (so he can sleep on me) because it will wreck my back.

Oh no, I have finally tried an everything bagel, and it is both amazing and horrifyingly messy

Mostly just trying to reflect on what I want to do with the second half of my life, and kind of pencilling in how to do that. (It would be a lot easier if I won the lottery first.)

Apparently the one thing all alignments of deities agree on in d20-based TTRPGs is good sleep habits for their followers: 8 hours of rest or no spells.

I should probably put a clock on the piano so I'm not up too late with new sheet music, lol. (Was gifted a book of Philip Glass piano solos.)

I got a weather station for my birthday and I'm ridiculously excited to be able to easily see the weekly rain totals next garden season.

Hi, I'm Kate, a librarian and hobby collector. I like the transition between De Selby pt. 1 and De Selby pt. 2 on Hozier's Unreal Unearth, as part one slides down into part two.

Ugh, information synthesis, I do not have *time* for you right now. (My brain just applied my basic high school journalism training (5 Ws + how) to the concept of citations/annotated bibliographies.)

Okay now that it's far enough past the 6+ inches of rain we got in 36 hours last month, the San Marzanos are producing faster than the slugs can ruin them, but oh no, they are indeterminate tomatoes, and oh no. I'm going to be making sauce into late September again.

UPDATE: Yes, their owner passed away Thursday. We're taking them in today, but as I said, that CAN'T be permanent; they NEED a HOME NOW. We're willing to drive pretty much anywhere in the Northeast for the right adopter. We're begging.

Yes, but I have issues that make it slower than printing for me. (Letters don't always come out in the correct order so it's easier if I can squeeze them in where they go when they do come out.)

Thinking about the mistranslations and miscopied words that came down to us in the sole surviving known copies of various ancient works that became canon and how the digitization and destruction of old/rare books is going to create new ones through failures of OCR.

Gentle reminder for all that if you have books that are water damaged, crawling with bugs, physically broken, or giving you travel advice for a country that hasn’t existed since the 90s, you can safely throw them away, you don’t need to make them your local thrift store’s problem.
