Fair, I am just, even more annoyed at Amazon, all it would have taken is a tiny bit more work for one last update that turned off the “you must register kindle before it is usable on first boot” for these sunsetted devices and while still bad, would have been partially defendable as not evil but no.

if it was just this, I would be arguing that it isn't the end of the world or amazon being SUPER evil (just regular evil) . But they also removing registration of devices, so if you ever accidentally factory reset, the device is now a brick.

They have access to it without the account, it's been shown in multiple court documents they have a company 'monitoring' the underlying AT protocol that bluesky uses for 'threats'. They dont need the account to collect data, it's there just for intimidation.

Mine refused a diagnosis on me, when I was young. The doctor wanted to put it in my record, she refused it. I found out a year or two ago (after diagnosed as an adult) when reading through old records and I find a letter saying "I wished to diagnose [me] as autistic but Mrs [surname] refused it"

I agree they shouldn't. However in the current climate for any company that doesn't want to go full on right wing extremism, Zionism is 'acceptable' (it should NOT BE) Anti vax heavy conspiracy (not just normal anti vax) isn't. Is that right? No it isn't in any way, but that is the current climate.
