My aorta dissected nearly four years ago. I breathed through intense chest pain until it passed and thought I was fine. Only because one of my carotid arteries had also dissected, eventually causing stroke-like symptoms, did I go to the hospital. Emergency open-heart surgery then saved my life. 🙏🕉️☮️❤️

I'm back to work on BODIE'S SATTVA. Currently reading for inspiration V for Vendetta. It's so much richer than the film (of course) and eerily prescient, right down to the phrase "Make Britain Great Again." Other influences on my novel: The Bhagavad Gita and George Bernard Shaw's play Major Barbara.
