All the car parks to the supermarkets and hyper markets in this area are done. Plus quite a few much smaller parking areas. All new agricultural buildings have solar panel roofs as well.

It was two years ago that I jumped in the car and headed off to the Riverland hoping to see my first aurora. I pulled an all-nighter. I almost went home around midnight. It was cold. But I'm glad I persevered, because I saw this just after 5am! (The bright light is a car.)

Denmark's coal-to-wind transition is one of the most dramatic energy transformations of the past three decades. In 1990, coal provided 90% of Danish electricity. Today it is under 3%. Wind now covers roughly 60% of electricity generation. The last coal plant is scheduled to close by 2028.

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.
