There is also an elephant in the room, women's pensions, women who take time out of work to have children must not be punished in old age.

This is my experience, women don't want to have children with men who won't equally share the load of family life. And yes this also means redesigning out working structures to enable both parents to both have paid work and care for their kids.

Can someone tell me where I can do an "ethnicity" genetic test? I was born in Wales, as we're all my family for at least 220 years, before that some of my forebears were born in England and going back 200 years my father's forefathers came from what is now Germany?

We won't liberate women from male supremacist societies if we have to appease them by making it appear that women are equally abusive.

I'm retired, but worked in women's orgs since the 80s, I'm aware that some women experience violence from other women, but you were talking about women who've been raped. This is a crime perpetrated by men, 99% of sexual violence is perpetrated by men, I find the term "gender based" an obfuscation.

The Home Secretary rightly points out that nearly all women who make dangerous journeys to the UK are survivors of rape. So why does the Govt. detain women on arrival, let women languish in the asylum system for months and years on end, & close safe routes that support women and children? 1/2

Hard agree, but why do feminist organisations, like you, use the term " gender based violence" when what we are talking about is male violence, let's not be coy about is doing the crime. "Gender based" makes it sound like women are equally likely to rape men.

Yes the stereotypes expected of females and males changes from place and over time, in Victorian times all toddlers wore skirts and pink was considered a masculine colour, in parts of the world women clothing is trousers & men wear skirts. Conforming to gender is collaborating in oppression.

Gender, the nebulous, patriarchal concept of sexist stereotypes is constantly changing. Sex is unchangeable, secondary sexual characteristics can be surgically altered

Nice that a man says he's " not sure he's for killing" women, just re-educating them. No sign of sexism here then. Thank the Goddess for these progressive men and their love of explaining things to women, including "real feminism".

Or maybe the mere idea that it is necessary for women to be hyper focussed on their appearance is just sexist, and the BBC should not be perpetuating sexist stereotypes.

While we live in a sexist society, women & girls need male free spaces for dignity, privacy & safety, male free spaces & organisations to recover from sexism & to organise autonomously against sexism. "Gender" femininity or masculinity, a set of stereotypes which sexist societies ascribe to each sex
