Anyone taking the "apocalyptic warnings" from the big three AI firms seriously needs their head examined. This is a pure PR play. The whole "escaping containment" thing was fake marketing, nothing more. These excuses to slow development are an attempt to buy time before the bubble bursts.=

If there was also an Oguri Cap figure eating like the beast she is, I would also buy that in a flash.

Fun story, one the friends I grew up with had evangelical parents who didn't appreciate that their son kept borrowing my books that were laced with "satanic" imagery. This was the exact picture they gave me as an example, not the various other random monsters in the book.

The Lone Wolf game book series was responsible for me getting into RPG's way before games like Fallout and Baldur's Gate (they predate my PC gaming era). Now I finally brought the set I grew up with after my trip back to Malaysia.

Furthermore, it destroys the environment and communities through forcibly building drug farms (Data centres), which are enforced and funded by cartels (tech companies). My kids understand the assignment completely. AI? Not even once. Just say no.

I educate my kids about AI the same way I educate them about drugs. It's addictive because it gives you a hit of euphoria, but gradually rewires your brain and erodes your mental state until you're unable to function a normal without it. (cont)

It also should be said that my both my daughter and son love TaiAri. It's cute, it's hilarious, and it's got girls kicking ass in fighting games. Like Kaiju Girl Caramalise, this show is also a win in my household for the season.

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 29/07/2026

Also not just an ad for Street Fighter 6, the show is also product placement for arcade sticks, particularly the Hori Real Arcade Pro V, and the Mad Catz T.E.3

The absolute fun bit about the yuri in TaiAri is that it doesn't follow the trope of Enemies to Lovers. It's hilariously (in a good way) all over the place because any gamer worth their salt will instantly adore someone who can be their challenger for life.

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 29/07/2026

Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games follows the same formula as Rock Is a Lady's Modesty where girls going to a prestigious all girls school secretly do something they aren't supposed to. As a gamer, I'm instantly sold by this show, more so, since it's also yuri.

citing chatgpt for a character design and eren yeager is a choice???

screenshot of part of tagah's character design sheet from SDCC. text reads "face shape exploration (no hair exploration yet) (please consider that if they are East Asian, the shave + braid queue hairstyles which are specifically Mongolian/Chinese may not be a good fit. Also according to chatgpt, "In general it is not common for South East Asian cultures to emphasize or traditionally have a strong association with beards. Traditionally valued a c clean-shaven appearance or minimal facial hair grooming.")

Underneath text are three images: one a photo of eren yeager from attack on titan and two contending options of tagah's facial shape/hair design: with scruff or a fuller beard

Jaadugar's ED is definitely my jam of the season. It's basically unskippable in a show that's so enthralling, 20 minutes feels like 5. The full song is already on my anime playlist. That's a no brainer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLQV...

I've been trying to get her to watch Assassination Classroom and Full Metal Alchemist for a while. She's currently on Beastars and Claymore (Manga) aside from the current seasonals that she likes.

Age recommendations are for parents who don't participate in what their kids are doing. I know my kids because I actively watch (or play games) with them. 100 Girlfriends is alright for my daughter if I give context to the lunacy, but some of the more lewder scenes are off limits.

100

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 25/07/2026

It should be said that she likes 100 Girlfriends because of how ridiculous it is, but I have to pre-watch it first to see if I have to give heavy context to the sexual hijinks or skip the episode entirely (like the hair tentacle hentai episode).

So far my daughter is excited to watch The Cat and the Dragon, and Kaiju Girl Caramalise with me. I was planning on introducing her to Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games, but since she likes fantasy, so maybe Victoria of Many Faces or Though I Am An Inept Villainess.

The Cat and The Dragon is such a whimsical fantasy about a dragon who was raised by cats, who in turn raises future generations of cats descended from his siblings. Each episode is a story of a unique cat who forms a bond with a human. 100% locked in because cats.

It's probably me but it really feels that Iron Blooded Orphans and Witch From Mercury may be the last well written Gundam in a while. GQuuuuuuX was alright, but there wasn't really any weight there unless I fuelled it with nostalgia, which I didn't have.

The villain of the new Gundam XARX looking at the mecha with the tattered cape be like...

000

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 24/07/2026

Maybe I'm just jaded by how franchises try and appeal to the popular crowd but the new Gundam Zero model, with its cape and different arm screams edgy chunibuyo syndrome that a subset of anime fandom will eat up. That's probably why it was announced in SDCC not Japan time.

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 24/07/2026

Let me get this straight, the protagonist of the new Gundam series is named Ray Azumi, and we have an unmasked, but still smug Char-like character, and red Gundam. Red flags of storytelling aside, we'll see where this version of Gundam takes us.

I still have Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games, and I will Love You Till Your Dying Day left on my new shows to watch for the season. It's been a marathon to catch up on all the shows that premiered in the past 3 weeks, including returning and continuing seasons.

110

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

The best parts of Victoria of Many Faces isn't the action but character narratives. The show is deliberate in using slower scenes to set to the mood for introspection and that show-not-tell aspect is important in trying to adapt an LN.

001

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Victoria of Many Faces is another favourite this season. It is a more nuanced Spy x Family without gags and powers. Still the same found family theme, but with a female protagonist who wants to be free of her past life as a spy. 3 episodes in and I am sold.

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Science Saru's Ghost in the Shell adaptation is hella fun. And I say this as a long time fan of Stand Alone Complex. There is always room for more, especially a more quirky (manga accurate) version of Motoko Kusanagi and her squad. This should have been what Cyberpunk was about.

071

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

One of my favourite isekai is Campfire Cooking, so Forsaken Saintess and her Foodie Roadtrip should be a gender-swapped no brainer. However it doesn't feel as good as it should or maybe my expectations are too high. It's still fun as a goofy food fest, so I'll stay with it.

It really is a more serious and grounded version of Invisible Man and his Soon-to-be Wife, with elements that educate and remind you that people with disabilities live in a difficult world we take for granted.

000

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Love Unseen Beneath The Clear Night Sky is a disability themed romance that follows in the footsteps of similar stories like A Sign of Affection. Consider me sold on a story about a boy who blinds himself to the world, and a blind girl who wants to experience everything it has to offer.

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Funnily enough, I watched this just after coming home from Malaysia. So when the adhan (Muslim call to prayer) sung during the opening scene, my wife was like, "Am I hearing it right? I thought I was still in Malaysia!"

012

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia is a stand out show this season with a female Muslim protagonist who plots revenge over the Mongols who killed people she cared for. Don't let the cuteness fool you, this show builds on the character motives with heavy intent. You will be invested.

141

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

As a fan of the manga, I really love how the Kaiju Girl Caramalise adaptation is doing it justice. I don't need any more battle shonen fighting. But shojo romance where blooming adolescence and insecurity manifest as kaiju transformation? Top tier plot and character narrative.

072

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

I really enjoy the trend where comedy meets horror and Reiwa no Dara-san does it well. The ecchi doesn't feel like its fan-service. It's just there because she's a curse and made to be a moe gag. The backstory flashbacks carry the show, and the horror scenes anchor it all down.

100

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Reiwa no Dara-san is one of my favourite shows this season. It's also one of the rare ecchi anime (featuring nipple boobs) I don't mind. It's selling point is how it blends serious folk horror with gag comedy where 2 schoolkids befriend a local curse spirit.

110

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

Heroine? Saint? No I'm An All-Works Maid is unabashedly (otome) isekai slop with an OP character who just wants to work as a maid. However, I'm using it as a chill buffer between more heavier stuff this season. But there are better shows this season and I may drop this midway.

000

Edrei "Daemons of the Four Seasons Hotels" Zahari @kamigoroshi.net · 23/07/2026

I am not a smoker, but Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You is such a cute rom-com that makes good use of the oblivious male protagonist trope. I was already sold from the first episode with its cute chill vibe, so I'm staying with this one to the end.
