Still spawning! But most events are a lot more expensive now and I don't have time to do all the stuff they put out so I just play a bit

I told my kids that one person plays two big parts and got them to guess which two. They guessed twice completely wrongly before giving up and asking me to tell them

Are you familiar with the song Cat's in the Cradle? I think it may have some relevance here. If you don't make the connection when they're young will it be there when they're older?

We had some ragwort turn up in our garden but then we also had a lot of the caterpillars and they have stripped almost all of it. It was quite fun watching them munch away. We could almost see them growing, they got big so fast

We have both air-to-water and air-to-air. Now we've got it, I don't think I'd want my heating done via air-to-air. We love the way the air-to-water heating works with the lower temps but bigger radiators. Much nicer than the boiler system. Air-to-air aircon has been amazing

Potato variety that is good for roasting, cut into uniform sizes, parboil for 5ish mins, shake them in the pan after parboiling to roughen, hot fat, hot oven, kind of roll the potatoes in the fat to coat them. Hot oven important. They're not as good at 180 as they are at 200

Yes, although they've introduced some new dynamax stuff that you can only do in large groups which is useless to me. The other day they changed the levels and I'm suddenly level 70 which is quite confusing. The owner has changed so they're doing new things

Hubby made lasagne for the first time recently. When I came in to help I said 'there's no way that's enough bechamel'. He said he'd followed the recipe quantities. It was not enough bechamel and it was stressful trying to do the layers.

How to gift wrap a book… my cartoon for this week’s @theguardian.com books.
Title: How to gift wrap a book

A book, scissors, sellotape and giftwrap on a table. The book has a friendly face and says "1. Roll out your chosen paper and put the book on it."

The book continues, saying "2. Take a moment to consider the book as an object." and "3. Ask yourself "Will the intended recipient fully appreciate this book and accord it the respect that it truly deserves?"

"4. Correct. They will not. Put the book on your shelf and replace it with a different gift."
Socks, chocolate, whatever.
Repeat steps 1-4 for any other books

You can use Feeds to make it less shit as that theoretically gives you the accounts you follow in reverse chronological order but it does sometimes still not show you stuff that you've said you want in favour of stuff you never asked for
