I resent, but am not surprised, that my education in the South for K-12 and college did not include Baldwin. His writing was certainly more thought provoking than much of the required reading. Right up there with arguments over why there was a Civil War w/o reading the Confederate Constitutions.

I installed metal roofs and worked in a sheet metal shop from 19 to 23. That is why I jumped at the opportunity to work with computer and made that my career. Will thank the older guys in construction who all but physically abused me to make damn sure I was lifting things properly though.

For as much as he claims to loathe government, Musk is massively tied to it. If countries started looking at Musk as the National Security Risk that truthfully any one person with the access he has is and cancels or downward negotiates contracts, he is at risk. Zuckerberg will last longer.

Friend's son went to college for one semester, passed but withdrew from school. Went to VoTech to become a certified HVAC technician has less tuition debt while making more money. My son is learning CNC routing coding for manufacturing and will use tuition reimbursement one class at a time.

I worked with one guy who almost started a fist fight with me over a 3-4-5 triangle being the same as a 6-8-10 (high school dropout) who had a work ethic better than entire frat houses, treated women with respect, and was more trustworthy than any frat I met.

Growing up in a college town and working construction for the few years I ran into frat boys. Seemed equal or less academic than the average construction worker, more misogynistic, worse ratio of functional alcoholics, and work ethics that were pathetic. Perfect candidates for Good Old Boys Club
