Just biked down Elston from Irving Park to Belmont. Can someone tell me why that stretch isn’t protected? It’s buffered so there is tons of room. Of course the lane ends 100 ft before every intersection. Good luck to you, intrepid cyclist!

Lakeview (Chicago) now has ✨six✨ weekly bike buses to the K-8 schools, and had *at least* 100 kids bike to school today between the Burley and Nettelhorst Bike Buses (& prob 75-100 more adults with them). That’s pretty rad!

Just had an eastbound driver punish pass me on the Wellington greenway. When I screamed at him to chill, he pointed to the westbound bike lane, as if I should have been riding there. Awesome. The drivers have no clue.

There are several things going on in Wicker Park today, so of course everyone is Big Mad in their SUVs. I zipped right through in my cargo bike with everything for my kid’s baseball game and then almost got creamed in the bike lane on Damen by a driver who couldn’t bother to check her mirror.

Guys, this is for real. Senate GOP and the administration want to pass a law that outlaws bikelanes on the 160K mile National Highway System. Imagine if adding protected bikelanes to many arterials would suddenly be against the law. Let’s not allow this.
