I’ve been cooking this way for the past 13 years. Over that time I’ve picked up techniques, tips, and tricks for knowing when and where to add my own flourishes to those recipes. Just keep faking it and one day you’ll find that yeah, you are a pretty great cook.

That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. All the major map providers get their US names from the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) feed from USGS. Google (and inevitably all the other providers) didn’t do this to us. We did it to ourselves.

I’m not a big fan of country music. That said, my wife and I visited Nashville last year. Our last activity was a tour of the Grand Ole Opry. I was genuinely impressed with country music’s reverence for history and tradition, as exemplified in the many traditions around that place.

We just landed and I heard the pilot say, “Jeff Bridges is standing by.” Why would The Dude be greeting us as we deplane? “Again, the jet bridge is standing by.” Oh yeah, that makes much more sense.

Mike Lee is finding out, in real time, the problem with “Christian Nationalism”: who’s Christianity? Not the Catholic Latinos’. Not the Black churches’. Not even the white LDSes’.

A tweet from Senator Mike Lee:

“I'm not talking about what individual Christians might think

I'm talking about the U.S. government

I can say confidently that the U.S. government has no business recognizing the Christianity of literally every other religious sect that worships Jesus Christ-with one exception.”

Thoughts from Principal Consultant Dave Mosher: AI lowered the cost of outputs but raised the cost of being wrong. The differentiator isn't the model anymore, it's the harness. Tests, boundaries, feedback loops, and decision records encode taste and judgment. Outputs are cheap. Outcomes never were.
