A reminder that The Escapist that people remembered does not exist anymore. Almost all the core staff packed up and left. Most reformed as Second Wind, which is doing decent work. The problem is that so many people put “Indie” on the same scalar plane as AA and AAA, when it isn’t. Small games should be Single A or something. That way indie can actually mean independent, rather than small, low budget, cheap, etc…

I know capturing game footage is tough at the best of times, but it is DOUBLY important to do it right if you're producing storefront footage for a VR game. If your game trailer is dropping to sub-30fps I'm going to assume this game will be actively unpleasant to play. Chunderiffic, even.

Played Dispatch in one Go. I liked it a lot. Feels Like the golden days of Telltale Games. - Starts with very strong writing - Ends a bit on the weaker Side - Performance surprisingly stutterly - Choices dont seem to Matter much I want more.

A post-GDC thought: There's so much worry surrounding securing funds now or in the future but ppl funding games want to feel confident/invest in lower risk projects with clear hooks & interest. Marketing *has* to be part of dev and among your earliest considerations, not an afterthought.
