The problem is that so many people put “Indie” on the same scalar plane as AA and AAA, when it isn’t. Small games should be Single A or something. That way indie can actually mean independent, rather than small, low budget, cheap, etc…

I know capturing game footage is tough at the best of times, but it is DOUBLY important to do it right if you're producing storefront footage for a VR game. If your game trailer is dropping to sub-30fps I'm going to assume this game will be actively unpleasant to play. Chunderiffic, even.

Played Dispatch in one Go. I liked it a lot. Feels Like the golden days of Telltale Games. - Starts with very strong writing - Ends a bit on the weaker Side - Performance surprisingly stutterly - Choices dont seem to Matter much I want more.

A post-GDC thought: There's so much worry surrounding securing funds now or in the future but ppl funding games want to feel confident/invest in lower risk projects with clear hooks & interest. Marketing *has* to be part of dev and among your earliest considerations, not an afterthought.

One thing to understand is that these execs never descend from their ivory towers long enough to really get to know their players. They just read a report about a report and regurgitate the facts that fit their narrative/agenda. Listen and engage with your communities. Not the paid reports/surveys

despite being horribly busy, I just about managed to make the time to play Peripeteia last month (it's out RIGHT NOW on early access) and it is BEYOND what I expected it made me fall head over heels for immsims and is perfection in every way that matters to me ty to the devs for the early key!

Golden Light is a one of a kind freak game that more people should play. And now can, because it's (for the time being) free. Horror comedy stealth roguelike. Like playing Prop Hunt in Silent Hill while drunk. Sometimes you can heal by hitting yourself in the face with a fire axe, or eating a gun.
