I could see taking advantage of shared compute for agent sandboxes. That's a generally less memory intensive (if scary from a security perspective). Priced right, that's something I could see wiring up to some agent infra though.

I guess I'm just saying, I'd be interested in offering compute, but not *using* compute from others. It just isn't worth it to me. So the incentive structure of being able to buy back the compute time isn't an aligned incentive unless your both a heavy consumer and provider.

There's a limit to the performance we'll get with open source models and consumer level hardware right now. Unless folks are running some setups with insane integrated memory, the models will need to be quantized and the performance will only be so-so. Could be marginally useful, sometimes.

Setting aside the co-op framing for a moment, I do think it's an interesting time to have more shared compute. I could see offering up unused compute for others to use. I don't find the arbitrary token exchange interesting though.

Do you know who's behind the project? It's odd to me that it's free. That just seems unsustainable / doesn't really incentivize providing compute. Being able to rent out local compute at marginal rates would be very interesting though.

NY's requirement to publish the creation of a business in the paper for 6 weeks is kinda insane. You even have to post if you're doing a new DBA. I get it's likely just a subsidy of legacy print media which on the face of it is fine. It's $1.4k to do a publishing in BK, so everyone uses Albany.

That's not to say I don't *plan* up front (regardless of whether I'm using an agent or not). It's fairly common to learn during the process though. I still learn during the process with agents, but the learnings can sometimes be delayed.

When I'm working on a difficult piece of software there are all these moments of introspection dredged up by the friction that make me continually question if it's the right way to do things or the appropriate direction. Coding agents remove a lot of that. It's easier to go the wrong way longer.
