In the presidential immunity case, the court considered a hypothetical of a president ordering Navy Seals to assassinate an American political rival. Trump's lawyer argued unambiguously yes, since it'd be an "official act." The Roberts Court ruled in his favor, 6-3. Why wouldn't Trump believe this?

I'll push back a bit. These people have power in their own right and have ambitions. Trump targeting them isn't going to make him friends. Some will just take it, but some will not. That's more likely if speaking out will actually harm them. He's a lame duck and unpopular.

The 9/11 remarks could be a sign of dementia too. It can manifest in filling in the holes of memory with things that didn't happen. I get what you're saying. It's hard to distinguish.

I believe that promising the check also is a possible sign of dementia. A normal functioning person would understand he's going to get questioned. He doesn't have the ability to fix his messes anymore or understand the proper thing to do or say is, so he gets irate.

That's the difference here. You could have a propensity for being a jerk but know when you are able to act that way and when there's going to be social consequences for doing so. I believe he lacks the latter.

His lack of self preservation is what's standing out to me. That's a sign things aren't right. You can be a jerk and still know that yelling at reporters for asking questions about something you actually promised isn't a good look less than 2 months to the midterms.

Trump was 4 miles from the Twin Towers in his office on 5th avenue watching it on TV and then the smoke in the distance out of the window as his own lawyer has made clear in interviews previously. There were no fireman who carried him out of his office.
