us nonBlack folks have a way of underplaying the ongoing oppression that Black folks face daily. ~1/3 of Black men are given felony convictions & thus stripped of voting rights. >50% will be arrested by their 23rd bday. if living in dc, they are TEN TIMES more likely to face arrest than white men.
