This is an important piece. No matter the future shape of the US relationship with its European allies, Europe needs to stand on its own feet in defense and economic development. A stronger and more independent Europe doesn’t have to weaken the transatlantic bond.

NATO needs to deploy its standing naval force to patrol the Baltic cable area and establish presence. Putin is testing both the US during the transition and NATO unity. We must respond. If nato cannot the Joint Expeditionary Force should.

An #AltGov had joined the fray. As x2 federal employees have been doxed of late. There are many at risk. While we enjoyed complaining about other civil service, they are who have kept our government working in a stable fashion from admin to admin. They are people who do believe in serving democracy.

After my trip to DC last month, I wdn’t be 100 % surprised if this line has support in some, but not all, parts of the Administration. But it would be a depressing sign that after 24 yrs, W leaders still don’t understand what makes Putin tick, or what would make him stop. They’re fighting to lose!
