Riggs is supposed to be the crazy one but at the start of Lethal Weapon 1, Murtaugh is shown having a morning bath on a workday. That is absolutely insane behaviour

this was the AA's attempt - with 'garage/parking/misc' set at over €4k annually. i suspect a 'woe is the motorist, look at how much we are charged' approach was taken. www.theaa.ie/motoring-adv...

out of curiosity, what's the standard source these days for cost of car ownership? I remember seeing figures before (i think from the AA) whose calculations i found suspicious; they had a 'garage/parking cost' which seemed exceptionally high.

much as i applaud the sentiment, is it not the case that there's simply far too little waste cooking oil in the world to go around? i'd be worried that this would create pressure to use oil that's simply derived from plant material, pushing pressure on land use even higher.

Look, I'm not doing this for bants and likes, which seems to put me at odds with most of the political culture these days. This issue literally keeps me awake at night. How the hell do we get government - which exists above all to protect us from harm - to wake up to the scale of this threat?

that may have been his point but IIRC it was very badly phrased in response to a parliamentary question? would he usually write his own parliamentary responses - one would assume that he at least signs off on them.

a friend of my brother's was doing her test and a motorbike crashed into her. not her fault; but it was interesting that (IIRC) in that situation, a 'nolle prosequi' is declared, and the tester drives the car back to the centre (after all details swapped, etc)

I've no idea which do and don't, but assumed that most of them did! There's a small one just south of the western end of the runway at dublin airport, and this one near Kilsallaghan - i assumed this would have been big enough to be classed as 'commercial'? maps.app.goo.gl/pTT9Gx4sMxsQ...
