This is interesting. You get assigned to being born at a random place and time in history, to see what a typical person's life might have been like then. Unfortunately I was born in 1403 in the valley of Mexico and died at age 4 from dysentery.

Looking forward to Thursday, when the School of Health Sciences #DundeeUni hosts this virtual lunchtime seminar: Ecological momentary interventions: Examples from #MentalHealth settings Presented by Dr. Anita Schick, CIMH Mannheim 👇 #DundeeUni #CIMH #MobileHealth #EcologicalMomentaryAssessment
Ecological momentary interventions: Examples from mental health settings
Ecological momentary assessments are a well-established mobile tool to gather real-world data to inform research and practice. Ecological momentary interventions take this a step further: they not only gather such data for later use, but also offer personalised feedback to users, and sometimes exercises or tasks to do based on the gathered data. This talk will provide a brief introduction into ecological momentary assessments and interventions, and then focus on examples drawn from recent trials. The first example will illustrate how adaptive sampling can be implemented in order to present exercises when needed most in daily life. This feature of the EMIcompass intervention, a 6-week blended EMI, was investigated in a randomized controlled trial in youth with early mental health problems. The second example is drawn from the ongoing YOUTHreach SELFIE trial where we investigate the efficacy of the SELFIE intervention, a bended EMI for improving mental health in youth with experiences of childhood adversity.
Dr. Anita Schick is a psychologist and postdoctoral researcher at the Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) in Mannheim, Germany, where she works on translating evidence-based innovations into public mental health practice. Her work focuses on implementation science and digital mental health, with particular expertise in ecological momentary interventions (EMIs), digital monitoring tools, and sensor-based technologies designed to support mental health assessment, prevention, and care in real-world settings. Through clinical and implementation research, she investigates how innovative and technology-supported interventions can be effectively integrated into routine mental health services and public health systems.
