Incumbent social medias are becoming walled gardens. Both X and Facebook are directly limiting link sharing. Not just algorithm throttling, but turning them into a paid feature. For many sports organisations and events this is not sustainable. Bluesky offers an alternative. #sportsmanagement

If you want to hold on to your top athletes they need recognition of achievement to feel they keep making progress. In many sports there's no media to hold up a mirror. So the sport itself needs to take care of this. You do it well and your champs stay in the game longer, you attract more youth.

Evidence map 01: What pushes elite athletes toward quitting? It maps one risk chain from a 2026 study of 235 German national-squad athletes in eight Olympic disciplines. A hypothesis card, "No verified record of achievement," points to the strongest measured risk: a sense of stalled progress. Five risks raise thoughts of quitting, ranked by strength: stalled progress, falling motivation, mental health problems, time and role conflicts, and poor training conditions. Not feeling valued and coaching style showed no effect. Supporting findings: effort without perceived success predicts thoughts of quitting, and distant star role models don't lift participation. The outcome to avoid: 49% of athletes thought about quitting more often within a year. One study, measuring thoughts rather than actual exits: an early-warning signal, not proof.

American AI labs' "existential threats" is a hoax. These "threats" emerged when their revenue model came under attack from locally deployed open models, as well as Chinese frontier models. My take is that they want to protect their models legally, and outlaw competition. You know, for "safety".

About the employment effects of data centers: I’ve worked over 25 in tech, in and around data centers. My LinkedIn network is thousands of professionals. I know less than a dozen people who actually work at a data center. Data centers don’t bring jobs to a town, after the construction is done.

An unpopular opinion: If you are running a sport event, league or federation which gets a thousand likes on a good day, you will never return an investment in streaming or media reach. Invest in the athlete journey, instead. Fight the churn, build attraction. #sportsmanagement

One of my side projects is the Marita Universe, essentially a space simulator with pretty hard physics, including actual signal propagation, and thus comms delay. At the moment I'm building the station AIs, who control and develop their facilities in collab with other stations.Exciting!

Most of the practitioner #sports federations (which can’t tap into spectator revenue, nor mass events), spend again and again in media. But it’s not sustainable. It creates spikes, then they fall back to baseline. It’s spend, not investment. They should invest in the #athlete pipeline, instead.

So I think for title.stream we need to adopt Challenger Sales approach It’s really hard to sell a completely new insight. When you need to reframe an entire set of problems the client is facing in a new way, you need new metrics, even new words to communicate it.

Ron Baron: Starlink alone will do $1 TRILLION revenue in 10 years. I wonder how. And who’s the customer? Starlink is an inferior product in any region with fiber. Due to unit economics fiber is becoming increasingly sustainable across geographies, while Starlink has a diminishing market.

The motivation to build @title.stream stems from my own experiences in two national sports federations. Champions in any sport put in comparable effort to excel, yet even digital recognition of achievement is a function of media attention. That doesn’t need to be the case. Leave no champ behind.
