Sports is overindexing on ephemeral visibility: streaming and social media. That’s pure spend. The half-life is counted in hours. A good media strategy invests a portion of budget to long tail media: content which is designed to be discoverable and consumable after the event. #sportsManagement

If watching war footage would be useful the Finnish military would probably use it as part of the military service. It’s one of the foremost military pedagogical institutions in the world, catering to 85% of each age cohort, men. Violent video footage is not part of any training I’m aware of.

Had a great pilot review with an international sports federation team yesterday, about @sports-veritas.com . A key insight: regardless of how convenient it may be for the supplier and the federation, young athletes simply will not check their email, even if prompted to. Listen. Learn. Adapt.

It's pretty mind boggling to see the right person represent your company on LinkedIn, and the traction just goes way up. And in this case the person didn't come with a pre-existing network, but joined LinkedIn just to do her job. In two weeks she's built quite an impressive network, and hot leads.

EU is a regulatory superpower. Many frame it as a blocker to innovation, whereas I tend to see it as guardrails towards sustainable outcomes. I remain optimistic that EU will lead the way; once again we will set the guardrails, and it will be to the benefit of users around the world.

I think it’s load bearing for grift. That seems to be a sufficient motivation. Nothing like an uncontrolled investment of taxpayer money into non-voting shares, in exchange for dubious donations and kickbacks of a dozen sorts. The point isn’t to save anything. Just steal & plunder.

The thing which makes this so stupid is that they might as well ask ChatGPT to generate an image of some catastrophy and then put out an executive order. Since there’s no sanity checks, by the time the courts get around to call bullshit on it, they’ve moved on already. USA == broken system.

My prediction was that we should start to see AI startups folding by end of September. So pretty close. Essentially there’s no cash available since the capex bubble ate it all. Yields are going up & up. Runway spent in H1 on tokens. Expect to see more. Then a “national security” play to bail out

A few weeks ago we found a kitten with a broken front leg on the street, and took him (?) home, and provided with shelter, food, and care. Almost fully recovered now. And very keen to play!

I once helped run and co-owned a social media website that at its peak had about 2 million visitors a month. As well as the successes, we had plenty of fails, hacks, and complaints, but we always owned up to our mistakes instead of making up shite excuses.

Because we’re offering something new, we need to teach our customers what problems we solve and why they should care. Before going into sales we’re first contacting various mid tier roles and framing our solutions from each of their perspective. Just to build awareness and recognition. #sales

The bond markets seem like the last sane market in the United States. I don’t know much about it, but I suppose it’s not subject to insider trade manipulation, and the institutional buyers are more likely to do their own homework, rather than listen to administration mouthpieces?

There is no international law when it comes to companies. Which is a problem. So there are only national laws and international agreements. And the Estonian e-residency fulfills both requirements. While operation, my company paid taxes to Estonia and complied with Estonian laws + EU regulations.

What’s insane about it? It’s a mechanism for allowing people to establish an identity in the Estonian system, for example to set up business, without citizenship. I know because I’ve been an e-resident for over 10 years, since I set up a startup there. You make it sound quite fantastic.

Incumbent social medias are becoming walled gardens. Both X and Facebook are directly limiting link sharing. Not just algorithm throttling, but turning them into a paid feature. For many sports organisations and events this is not sustainable. Bluesky offers an alternative. #sportsmanagement

I has my last dose of nicotine about 2,5 years ago. My last cravings were about six weeks later (I kept diary). After 30 years of smoking it was, eventually, surprisingly easy. Even if I’m drinking and other smoke, there’s just zero appeal left. But that’s, of course, just my experience. YMMV.

What I’m seeing is enterprise customers to the left and to the right scrambling to implement locally deployed models to cut up to 80% of token budgets. The revenue potential is compressing rather quickly. So to answer your question: quite worried.
