Cats of Greece. Nipsu is a handsome boy nowadays. But I remember when he was tiny and loved a good cuddle.

A few weeks ago we found a kitten with a broken front leg on the street, and took him (?) home, and provided with shelter, food, and care. Almost fully recovered now. And very keen to play!

We provide IOC affiliated sports federations with the tools to turn every sporting title into an indexed declaration on @title.stream & every athlete perspective into an article on @sports-veritas.com Leave no title behind. Every champ deserves recognition! #sportsmanagement
Infographic titled "From a confirmed title to a public record" by NxtStride. A left-to-right process flow in five steps, on a dark navy background.

Step 1, Declare: the federation's event manager files the title or record.

Step 2, Approve: a second federation person checks the facts; the filer never approves.

Step 3, Publish, automatic: the page goes live on title.stream within minutes and the athlete is invited.

Step 4, Interview: the athlete answers in their own words through one emailed link, no account needed.

Step 5, Sign: a draft is assembled from the athlete's words and the federation's quotes, then a named reviewer edits and signs it.

An arrow labelled nightly edition leads to the outcome card: the number 2, for two federation roles that take a confirmed result to a permanent public record on two sites.

Volunteer officeholders can fill both roles. If the athlete does not reply, the title page still stands and only the article is skipped.

If you want to hold on to your top athletes they need recognition of achievement to feel they keep making progress. In many sports there's no media to hold up a mirror. So the sport itself needs to take care of this. You do it well and your champs stay in the game longer, you attract more youth.
Evidence map 01: What pushes elite athletes toward quitting? It maps one risk chain from a 2026 study of 235 German national-squad athletes in eight Olympic disciplines. A hypothesis card, "No verified record of achievement," points to the strongest measured risk: a sense of stalled progress. Five risks raise thoughts of quitting, ranked by strength: stalled progress, falling motivation, mental health problems, time and role conflicts, and poor training conditions. Not feeling valued and coaching style showed no effect. Supporting findings: effort without perceived success predicts thoughts of quitting, and distant star role models don't lift participation. The outcome to avoid: 49% of athletes thought about quitting more often within a year. One study, measuring thoughts rather than actual exits: an early-warning signal, not proof.

Carbon capture is a mirage. It’s a broken promise, a bait & switch. It’s what Big Whatever goes for whenever they intend to do nothing at all.
ProPublica, "Why Carbon Capture Can't Conceivably Solve Climate Change" (June 25, 2026). Data compiled by researchers Rory French and Lindsey Gulden; CCS actuals from IEA's CCUS Projects Database, projections from IEA World Energy Outlook / Energy Technology Perspectives (Blue Map, Net Zero by 2050, Sustainable Development, Announced Pledges, Stated Policies scenarios). Solar actuals/projections also IEA WEO/ETP.

What the two panels show:

Carbon capture: Actual carbon storage (maroon) has stayed essentially flat and near-zero since 2010. IEA projections (blue), reissued nearly every year since 2008, repeatedly assume storage is about to take off — each new forecast starts from that year's actual number and then rockets to thousands of megatons by 2040. None have come close to being realized. ProPublica notes the 2008 IEA forecast alone called for ~1,600 megatons/year by 2025; actual global burial today is less than one large power plant's annual emissions.

The mirror-image failure mode. Actual solar output (maroon) has grown exponentially since 2010. IEA projections (blue) have, in nearly every edition, assumed near-term growth would flatten — and been blown past almost immediately. This is the well-documented pattern originally popularized by Auke Hoekstra (TU Eindhoven) starting in 2017, later replicated by Carbon Brief.

The same institutional modelers have been wrong in opposite directions on the two technologies that matter most for climate — chronically over-optimistic on CCS (a technology that lets fossil extraction continue) and chronically pessimistic on solar (a technology that displaces it). ProPublica frames this asymmetry as suspicious in direction if not necessarily in intent, quoting no claim of deliberate manipulation but noting the pattern is consistent and one-directional over nearly two decades.

I’m attending a “panigyri” village festival in honor of St. Mary. I estimate there’s about 3000-4000 people here. In a village with a population of 1005. When I say religion can bring people together without any requirement of faith, this is what it looks like.

Orbital AI data centers sound cool until you do the physics. The radiators needed to reject heat from 1,024 GPU racks dwarf everything else. This is what it actually looks like. #SPCX Practically every pound of payload hauled to orbit will be heat radiators, not compute power.

I don’t know about Crimea, as Ukraine doesn’t operate there directly, but elsewhere Ukraine has adopted MUL.E electric motorcycles. Swappable batteries which can be charged with any electricity you can generate + silent running and almost no heat signature make them useful.

Anyone living in an older house with a disused fireplace can consider turning it into an energy battery with an electric heating element. A smart switch to turn it on when indoor temp is below comfort and electricity price approaches zero, for example autumn and winter high wind days.

I think everyone should be required to play Railroad Tycoon (1990). In just a couple of attempts you will learn, for life, why allowing mergers to result in practical monopolies is bad. Borrow money, buy competitors, raise ticket prices == win every time.
