Neither the bill's author, Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY), nor any of its 13 co-sponsors (8 GOP, 5 Dem) will say whether they knew of Exxon’s involvement in the creation of the bill they are currently backing—or whether they will continue to support it now that that information is public.
