design venting: Spotify made the top result of a search (1) look different than all the other results, (2) have a faded-out background so it looks especially irrelevant / skippable, (3) have its play button on the right side instead of the left, just to make sure your muscle memory is defeated.

"Museum exhibit" is an immersive, architectural medium. Most art in museums isn't native to this medium. It's transplanted via hermetic enclosures: frames on walls, plexiglass boxes on pedestals. "Installation art" really just means art meant for this medium, art that knows it's in a museum.

Found in "Thinking Physics". Was Epstein very wrong or very silly? (FWIW, there IS an etymological connection here! "Calculus" comes from "calx", Latin for limestone. Then you use that to describe counting with stones, and weird rocky build-ups in the body.)

I think there's a widespread issue where people map their experience interpreting poll numbers – 53% means you're probably going to win, 25% means no way in hell – onto prediction market odds – 53% means it's a coin flip, 25% means it's two coin flips. Maybe they'll figure it out eventually? 🤷

made a width-responsive pretty-printer with Prettier's "Doc" system. not sure I've seen this done before? it's nice! also I made "type" keys show up as sexpr-style heads, and "id" keys show up as a little hashtags. adapting notation to your own practices for ergonomics and concision is dope!
