I wish I had answers for you! Just wanted to say that as someone who has had a series of bad jobs with no upward mobility who was also ghosted by her therapist, I see you. Feeling like a failure is extremely hard, and carrying that mindset with you even when things go well is a tough cycle to break.

I hear you. I left in '20, went back for a funeral in '21 which was awful, and figured that would be the last time set foot there. I was grateful to have a neutral-to-positive experience today.

After the service I got a sandwich and coffee at a hometown spot I never get to. Drove by my mom's house to see it since she moved. Her garden is the same. Stumbled on an estate sale and found some treasures. It was a remarkably lovely day. Feeling closure, growth, and a full heart.

For those following, I decided to go. My best friend came from out of town for it so I knew I'd have someone to sit with, which felt safe. A few people approached me and we had nice conversations. Others made eye contact and said nothing. Others didn't seem to notice or recognize me. All was well.

From experience, grieving people don't remember who sent flowers (nor do they really want flowers.) They remember who showed up for them. It's not about whether the church deserves my presence (it doesn't) it's about whether the gesture of being there outweighs my mental hurdle 🤷‍♀️

Thoughts on attending a funeral at a church that hurt you? I haven't been in my old church since 2021. Last time I was there was a funeral, and I had a panic attack. A pastor I always liked lost his wife. I'd like to support him and his daughter, who is my age. I just don't know if I can go.

Just learned my first childhood friend died suddenly. She was 34 and left behind two kids (3 and 1.) Found out in the same hour that the wife of a dear pastor friend is on her deathbed, too. They'd been together 40 years. None of us can know our numbered days. Love your people while you can. ❤️

Hey USA, I just traveled to Canada and had the best experience in an all-gender restroom where I got to pee in complete privacy and washed my hands next to a man without incident because no one is weird or in fear of non-existent attacks from trans folks. We too could have this! Happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈

OKAY we have like, five Fannie May chocolate stores - not in malls, just standalone, brick and mortar storefronts. Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Downer's, they all have one! I've never seen more than one car in the lot at any of the locations, not even during the holidays. I'M WITH YOU 👀👀👀

There's a sandwich shop near me that got bad press for never being open during their posted hrs, and the owner went on a Facebook rant declaring they're just one person and things come up, and HEAVEN FORBID they sell out early and close, that's a GOOD THING and it...did not leave a great impression

I've had it for 8 yrs, this is my first time getting one removed/replaced. My opinions are mixed because 1. Once it's in, you don't have to worry about it 2. It's nice to not have to take a pill everyday 3. It has fewer side effects than the arm insert. But the insertion process is *truly* horrible

I wasn't able to work today. I wasn't able to drive myself home. I've been in bed, in pain, bleeding. All day. And my doctor giving me any sort of numbing medication is the *exception to the rule*. So yeah, men can stay tf out of reproductive healthcare. (5/5)

Insertion after they got the old one out was very quick (literally, less than 2 minutes) and thank goodness it was because I was ready to be over. I share this because people still don't realize what women go through to prevent pregnancy. (4/5)

I was given lidocaine this time, which I was not on my first. I assume that helped a fair bit because the first time I nearly passed out from pain and this time I didn't experience dizziness/nausea. But the pain was still BAD. (3/5)

My old IUD would not come out. Getting it out involved *intense tugging*. Had to take a break before re-insertion because I was shaking and crying. Friends...there was a LOT of blood. Like, a cleaned-the-exam-table-after-myself-because-I-felt-bad amount of blood. (2/5)
