Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
It's a disaster, and it can all be traced to
Labour ideology. Burnham has no mandate
from the people. He has no real ideas, and
no plan,

The depressing thing about the US isn't Trump really. He's just a grotesque. It's the complete failure of all the things liberals believe in: Congress, the judiciary, the press, voters themselves, all persistently unwilling or unable to stop him. It's the failure of an entire society.

Historically the NE, where I grew up, had lowest levels of access to Oxbridge, so this is long in the making. Increasingly rural, coastal and postindustrial communities are left behind, struggling to attract teachers to support them. We see the same in healthcare with significant disadvantage

Nigel Farage says of the NHS, “I do not want it funded through general taxation. It doesn’t work”. It does work. And it’s cheap. The “funding model” isn’t the problem. Using the NHS as a political football, and stripping it for parts to enrich cronies, is.

Broadcasters too reliant on vox pop interviews and failing to challenge politicians, says study
Researchers also question whether UK’s impartiality rules allow for proper scrutiny in era of multiparty politics Broadcasters are letting down voters by relying on so-called vox pop interviews and failing to scrutinise political claims during election campaigns, according to researchers. The study by Cardiff University looked at how this year’s national elections in Wales and Scotland, alongside the local elections in England, were reported on UK-wide television news between 2 March and 6 May.
