That’s just naughty - you’ll be telling me you don’t know what this ✏️ is for next and I won’t believe you

🫀 Today is World Heart Day. To celebrate, we picked out a handful of impactful Cochrane reviews on heart health. See them below – 🧵

My lovely, and very talented, Spanish theatre nurse was told to ‘go home’ the day of the results by some oiks who doubtless had never done an honest day’s work. He said he would if the could spell ‘referendum’. They couldn’t. Sadly, he left anyway and went somewhere better paid and appreciated 😭

Now it’s even worse, due to cost of housing etc. and pressure from social media etc to be the ‘perfect’ mother.

They had no choice but to stop work (60-70s). The next tranche of mothers had been told the could have both a career and children and they had seen (by early 90s) that this wasn’t true and was essentially ’doing it all’.

Also, they should charge everyone who received a text and did nothing with aiding and abetting a felony, surely?

From the facts presented this seems very wide of the he-said-she-said excuse and I am so mad that they get off without seemingly any repercussions that merit these acts. This is a criminal matter, not for universities to police.

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
It's a disaster, and it can all be traced to
Labour ideology. Burnham has no mandate
from the people. He has no real ideas, and
no plan,

Johnson on X

Thomas is chilling having scared the beegeezers out of us last week on what we thought might be a one-way trip to the V.E.T. Turns out he was probably just missing me 🥹 Now back on top form, shouting his disapproval when I’m home late and trying to teach the kittens manners!

No pavement, often single track road, national speed limit applies. School children walking down to the school bus, dog walkers and pedestrians. Apparently we don’t require a speed limit in the village as ‘fortunately no one has died yet’ (I paraphrase but only slightly) *they haven’t counted a dog

Coat colour in cats is carried on the X chromosome- each cell expresses just one X so in females one of the 2 Xs is randomly silenced, which gives the combination colour patches in a tortie/calico cat. Can get male tortie if kleinfelter syndrome (XXY) etc hence rare

Which brings back very bitter sweet memories of a great friend, no longer with us, who played the most hilarious practical joke on another lovely colleague after she let slip (whilst a bit tipsy) her husband cried at black beauty when he was little 🥲

Shouldn’t be a target other than providing to everyone who want to try without GA - look where having a ‘CS target’ got maternity care in some places

Jo Morrison @jomorrison.medsky.social · 06/09/2026
Sadly, that does not surprise me. I have cervical stenosis and having IUS fitted is excruciating but personally I prefer to a GA, but that’s my choice, for myself. I don’t get why people don’t listen to women and negate their views. Happens far too often in O&G and life generally.

This needs way more attention. The U.S. Postal Service has built a new system that could effectively turn USPS into a gatekeeper for mail-in ballots. Here are the details on how it is supposed to work.

Sad days for the @who.int family, with the sudden passing of Dr Vasee Moorthy. Vasee joined WHO in 2009 and made a major contribution to advancing the Organization’s work on clinical trials, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

A truly tragic loss of a brilliant and lovely man. Vasee was kind, brilliant and funny. We were medical students together and I vividly remember his smile - sadly he didn’t make our reunion last year, typically as he was working. He was much missed then. Our heart felt condolences to his family

In a research project on something unconnected there was a significant relationship between likelihood of free text feedback and length of feedback and whether they disagreed with something. People who thought it was fine said much less if anything
220
Jo Morrison @jomorrison.medsky.social · 02/09/2026
People who find it fine don’t say anything unless you ask them specifically - if you ask every anonymously it shows that there are a lot of people who don’t find it dreadful.

Yes, the headline lacks nuance, but that’s kind of the point of headlines & it’s an interesting and balanced article, recognising that women are often part of the misogyny problem, not just subject to it* *much of that I have experienced has been from misogynistic societal attitudes held by women
