I remembered to draw something for #inktober2026, a cactus!

One of the yard squirrels was running around a tree and looking cute so I grabbed the camera and shot this. #squirrels

A squirrel perched in a tree. Background is very light and full of green leaves, and the foreground are branches. This squirrel is perched looking at the camera.

That looks like something that was scripted.

I thought I’d give this ‘Inktober’ thing a try. I’m not an artist so my drawings are mostly technical. #inktober2026

A crude trawling of amoeba looking things.

Since moving to the center of the US I’ve been scanning more of the shortwave frequencies for distant weather fax stations. I’ve found that I’m able to receive charts from the UK on 8038.1KHz. Pretty neat! #shortwaveradio #wefax

Turn the knob, know who you're hearing. otd is a free app for shortwave listeners: it follows your receiver and names the stations on the frequency, live, from #EiBi, #HFCC and #Aoki. Works offline too, for when the internet is down. otd.oh2gba.eu #shortwave #SWL #hamradio #emcomm #sdr #websdr

That looks like a handy project. I’ll give it a try on my G90.

I still dont understand why it cost me 600 to put down/cremate my cat. Little dude was not even 7lbs of skin and bones. Compassion for our pets shouldn't be so expensive 🥲

That was a wholly entertaining and enjoyable show. The visual effects make me question that it was really shot in the ‘60s at times. Set design is a tribute with creative use of plumbing fixtures but looks awesome. The acting was overall good but some of the stories were… meh.

Excellent choice of backgrounds for your photos. They really make the subjects pop!

I’m posting more photos of Pixel, my feline friend of 18 years. She passed this week and she was an amazing cat. #cat #imissmycat #pixelthecat

I just lost my eldest cat, she was 18 and right now I’d take 5 kittens.

I lost Pixel yesterday to the ravishment of time. I was with her for 18 years, I keep thinking of her and crying. #cats #Pixelthecat #imissmycat

A beautiful tabby cat named Pixel walks towards the camera on the kitchen floor. She’s looking for head rubs and treats.

I had to put Pixel down today. Her health started failing a few days ago. I took her in for an exam and they said it was either her heart or kidneys. It was a hard decision but I know she’s not in pain anymore. I’ll miss my little shadow. I’ve had her in my life for over 18 years.

This Day in Labor History: September 15, 1845. Women working in the Pittsburgh textile mills met in Market Square to discuss the necessity of fighting to cut their days from 12 to 10 hours without a reduction in pay. The workers struck and a militant confrontation with capital resulted!

I moved from Az to Ks this year and I’m disappointed with the lack of abandoned rail lines, mines, bridges, cities, aircraft, wheeled transport, and open blasted wilderness. What the hell do you do here for fun? Pot isn’t legal so what, ya all just drink a lot? #arizona #kansas #kansasisboring

I was able to check in to the FreeDV 40m net tonight. It was at 8pm CST and on 7.182KHz. I was just using a 20W Xigu G90 and a lovely EFHW 60’ long wire hooked on a 20’ high tree branch. I’m still amazed that this technology works as well as it does. #amateurradio #hamradio #freedv
