Graphic show that between 2016 and 2026 candidate shifted away from using the term "big banks" -- there is a sharp drop off after 2020. In 2026, there is a sharp increase in the usage of "private equity," "hedge fund," and "corporate landlord."

Having just started teaching new undergraduates at uni, I think we're missing a key issue in the debate about AI: these kids do not know how *not* to use AI, full stop. We assume they are 'digital natives' but they are not and a Google Scholar search is as alien to them as an archival card-index.

"anti-migrant" is a euphemism. migrants are not vaccines, mosquitoes, wars, or racism (all nouns for which the prefix anti- is commonly used to denote opposition to, or action designed to kill/harm/obstruct). migrants are human beings. "anti-migrant protesters" are "pro-crimes-against-humanity".

The growth of private credit has often been attributed to tighter banking regulation and low policy rates. Such things certainly played a role early on, but they are difficult to reconcile with the rapid growth in private credit since 2020, when rates went up and regulation, if anything, loosened

Just a reminder as the new academic year kicks off - the UK government has deliberately, ruthlessly, throttled the recruitment of international students, solely to pander to racists, and the resultant 25%+ fall in numbers can and will only accelerate some universities into bankruptcy.
