I'm not sure that's necessarily the case Labour weren't in power in 2019 but the LibDems felt they suffered from a fear of a Corbyn led government. Why can't they benefit from a fear of a Conservative government cosying up to Reform?

Stop and smell the roses - they're earlier than ever this year. When the rose garden at Mottisfont, Hampshire was officially donated to the National Trust on 30 June 1972, it was in peak flower. This year, we're expecting them to be at their best mid-late May. 📷Sophie Bolesworth
Red roses in a walled garden. Behind and slightly out of focus we can see more pink roses against a red brick wall. A border in front of the wall has other flowers including tall foxglovesA view across a walled garden. Those who know might be able to identify this as Mottisfont in Hampshire. We see a low level circular pond made of brick with a fountain in the middle. A path runs centrally from an opening in the wall. Either side are borders full of shrubs and flowers. On the right are two large clipped yews, to the left is a rose bush with pink flowers. A white bench against a brick wall in a garden. Across the wall is a large spreading climbing rose in full flower. The petals are shades of pink

‘Demolition Derby’ strikes again, as the 1938 Egyptian Art Deco style Crompton House has been flattened to make way for Derby's new flood defences, despite a public backlash. With a bit more imagination, could the locally listed building not have been retained and included in the scheme somehow?

This Government once vowed to be “the most nature-positive [we have] ever had”. Months of blaming wildlife and stripping back protections have already made a mockery of that promise. And if the rumoured cuts to BNG go ahead, it will deal yet another devastating blow to nature.
A Robin sits silhouetted on a bare branch against a muted golden sky, its beak open as if calling out. The scene is quiet and atmospheric, hinting at the fragility of nature at a moment when vital protections are under threat.
