I really don't see how planting trees which take decades to mature is regarded as protection against drought and wildfires. They will more likely be fuel for the fires. What is urgently required is a global phase out of fossil fuels, but of course nothing on the climate yesterday...

The obvious solution is to break the link and stop gas setting the price of our energy and allow consumers to get the benefit of low cost renewables. Unfortunately our government remain firmly in the pocket of the fossil fuel industry.

We don't have a democracy...our governments are controlled by the rich and powerful led by the global fossil fuel industry who insist on business as usual. Do not expect anything to change with Burnham. It's growth and jobs all the way to Armageddon.
