Half the point of reading to your kid is that it’s *you* doing the reading. On top of the educational/developmental aspect, it’s about spending time with them. And why do parents even have kids if they don’t want to be around them? Because I assure people, kids may not remember a specific instance

No idea. But my personal view is that I’ll believe the Blue Tsunami is happening when I see it on election night. There’s been to many instances of Trump voters either not answering polls or lying to pollsters for me to trust the polling right now.

As someone who does teach con law, the idea that the Republicans on the Roberts Court are just too committed to "originalism" is farcical. You will search the opinions in Shelby County or Trump v. US (inter many alia) in vain for even the slightest trace of it

Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

I grew up in a right-wing evangelical household. The reverence that was given to the founders is straight up on par with what Catholics give to Mary. It was always an unspoken truism that the founders were divinely inspired by god. When I left religion, I deconstructed both my religious views, and

🧵One important thing about right-wing culture that people who have never been a part of it don't get is that to most Republican loyalists, their religion is America. They truly believe that the country's creators were directly inspired by God. To write critically of the founders is blasphemy.

We set the precedent multiple times over that Presidents and their administrations can break the law and senior officials won’t be prosecuted. And now it’s led us here.

I’ve been making the same argument. We’ve allowed the Presidency to break laws and get away with it for so long that it’s eroded the rule of law. What’s happening with Trump could’ve been prevented if Nixon, Ford (for pardoning Nixon), Reagan, etc, were held accountable for breaking the law.

We simply are not going to get out of this by just winning the next election & going back to governing. We can't keep doing this total failure of elite accountability. We've been doing it since Iran-Contra, & really since 1865. And we keep not fixing our broken anti-democratic institutions. Enough.

Great system, no notes www.propublica.org/article/scho...
Voucher programs and the private schools they increasingly fund have proliferated across the country. Yet those schools often reject children with disabilities — the very kids who were used to help sell early voucher programs to lawmakers and the public - for having needs that are too costly, complex or disruptive. That leaves those children with few options beyond the public schools. And as public schools lose enrollment as a result of more and more
voucher use, they lose resources that would benefit children who remain, including those with disabilities.
