I wonder how well the Eliica would do with modern batteries. It's almost like a bullet train on wheels. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eliica

This is why China is dominating at EVs: electrek.co/2026/10/12/b... Charges from 10-80% in five minutes. Or 10-97% in nine minutes. Assuming you can find a charger that supports that kind of charge rate. The excuse that gas stops are so much faster is irrelevant.

The number of hours I've lost of my life because some other software developer did a half-baked job is so frustrating. So much crap out there, and it doesn't need to be that way. But it's only going to get worse.

1. Share a Google doc with someone. 2. They get an email saying "X document has been shared with you" 3. They click the link for the shared doc, but it then forces them to request access... to the document that was explicitly shared with them. Why, Google? Why do you have to be like that?

Can’t eat a sandwich until you subscribe to sandwiches. Can’t eat today’s sandwich until it has applied daily sandwich updates. Sandwich now has adverts even though you paid for ad-free sandwich. Can pay again to have less sandwich adverts. Now you can eat the sandwich, but it’s smaller.

Thereallo, a web developer, decompiled the app and published a detailed technical breakdown of what's running under the hood. It injects code into third-party websites, loads JavaScript from someone's GitHub, and tracks your GPS, among other things.

The more I use Datadog, the more frustrating it becomes. UI elements shifting all over when tool tips are displayed. Super frustrating when it also lags badly and makes dragging things to the right location very difficult.

Hey Microsoft, when I tell Windows to "Update and Shut down", that shouldn't mean "Update and reboot". I think this may be my last ever Windows OS. So much bloat and garbage that I don't want.

I'm sad to see that hardly anyone makes 5.1 computer speakers for PCs. Back in the heyday, the early 2000s, there used to be tons of options.

Microsoft To Do app having auto suggestions turned on for new lists is infuriating. It hasn't got a sweet clue what I'm doing, so what gives it the right to suggest something? It's a practically useless feature that adds unnecessary complexity and frustration.

Because clearly we need more AI... Last time I checked, 5 metres and 25 metres are not the same thing.
A Bing Copilot search result incorrectly stating that 201 inches is 25,120 mm.A Bing search query showing that 201 inches is 510.54 cm.

Game idea: ignore the controller dead zone in a driving simulator, to give it the authentic feel of driving a 1980s Chevy Malibu with tons of slop in the steering. Ignoring the dead zone would allow it to naturally drift in some direction unless the player keeps correcting it.

Lately I've been seeing a lot more advertising on YouTube for AI, alcohol, gambling, and laundry detergent (all things I don't use or purchase). I guess those are very high margin products, large enough to blow a lot of money on advertising. Or desperate.

Remember: how good a deal is is often inversely proportional to the amount of advertising for said deal. The more money spent on advertising, the worse deal you are getting.

The stupid government of Alberta is using online surveys to gauge the support for Alberta separating from Canada. As an Albertan, separating from Canada is about the stupidest idea ever. It's playing right into the hands of foreign interference.

OpenAI's "API keys" page is a prime example of what's wrong with vibe coded garbage. If a key has a long enough name, it truncates it and there's no way to change the column width on the table. The only way to view the whole name is open the edit dialog or drag the browser window wider.

Having used the same Samsung phone now for several years, it's still unclear to me what logic it uses to determine when to accept a fingerprint and when it requires a PIN. It almost seems arbitrary on when it needs a PIN. That seems like a bad design to me.

I've started reading the Godot documentation. It's brought back all sorts of memories of game development from decades ago. It's been interesting to see some technologies live on and others die. Also makes me appreciate the complexity that is often not apparent in the simplest of games.

All software is inherently turning into garbage. This morning's examples: Slack and Samsung Gallery. Slack refusing to uninstall properly, and having a modal with two different buttons that do the exact same thing. Samsung Gallery saying it will stop syncing photos with OneDrive.
