I wonder how well the Eliica would do with modern batteries. It's almost like a bullet train on wheels. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eliica

Prices of 914s prove that they definitely haven't been forgotten. :P I used to cycle past a house that had an orange 914 tucked away in the garage. It was always fun to see it when they had the garage door open.

This is why China is dominating at EVs: electrek.co/2026/10/12/b... Charges from 10-80% in five minutes. Or 10-97% in nine minutes. Assuming you can find a charger that supports that kind of charge rate. The excuse that gas stops are so much faster is irrelevant.

Yup. Naturally formed sinkholes are more rare, but equally as exciting.

I'm reminded of car salesmen that advertise a car as having ABS, seatbelts, and rear view cameras on a brand new car. All have been legally mandated years ago.

Some of us still try to make things with our hands. Here's some book ends I made for my team members. I work remotely so don't get to see them very often.

The number of hours I've lost of my life because some other software developer did a half-baked job is so frustrating. So much crap out there, and it doesn't need to be that way. But it's only going to get worse.

1. Share a Google doc with someone. 2. They get an email saying "X document has been shared with you" 3. They click the link for the shared doc, but it then forces them to request access... to the document that was explicitly shared with them. Why, Google? Why do you have to be like that?

Can’t eat a sandwich until you subscribe to sandwiches. Can’t eat today’s sandwich until it has applied daily sandwich updates. Sandwich now has adverts even though you paid for ad-free sandwich. Can pay again to have less sandwich adverts. Now you can eat the sandwich, but it’s smaller.

Thereallo, a web developer, decompiled the app and published a detailed technical breakdown of what's running under the hood. It injects code into third-party websites, loads JavaScript from someone's GitHub, and tracks your GPS, among other things.

I probably should try it out, but I don't think that would help in the case of not being able to drag UI elements around to the right spot.

Some say I'd love to own an old Defender (but converted to EV). Classic Electric Cars on YouTube has done some amazing work in that regard, but they are still quite expensive and finding a Defender, even a regular one here in Canada is challenging.

I suspect the land Rover is much smaller than one of these beasts. I'm in Canada, and on my street there's quite a few pickup trucks. Very few of them are actually used like trucks. I'm pretty sure I've hauled more lumber in my Civic than the majority of them.

The more I use Datadog, the more frustrating it becomes. UI elements shifting all over when tool tips are displayed. Super frustrating when it also lags badly and makes dragging things to the right location very difficult.

Hey Microsoft, when I tell Windows to "Update and Shut down", that shouldn't mean "Update and reboot". I think this may be my last ever Windows OS. So much bloat and garbage that I don't want.

I'm sad to see that hardly anyone makes 5.1 computer speakers for PCs. Back in the heyday, the early 2000s, there used to be tons of options.

Microsoft To Do app having auto suggestions turned on for new lists is infuriating. It hasn't got a sweet clue what I'm doing, so what gives it the right to suggest something? It's a practically useless feature that adds unnecessary complexity and frustration.

I'd be all over this. That new Renault EV van looks neat. It would open up a lot of neat options. Also, maybe we could finally get amber coloured turn signals on all new vehicles.

Sometimes it takes a few revisions to get something right. Still a lot less costly than manufacturing steel injection molding tooling each time I want to make something simple.
