3) O homem continua a descer escada.

The end goal of AI is not building god or whatever — or even building AI tools that even work. It's stuff this. A proprietary layer of automation that controls and surveils everything we do, owned by the wealthiest of society. They want to freeze the world as it is now and rule over it.

We have AI assistant Glean integrated into the Slack, and it answered privately to her: "today's siren is just a scheduled test and you do not need to leave your workplace". It was not a test or a drill, it was a real fire alarm. Someday, AI will kill us.
Glean answer:

In building ... today’s siren is just a scheduled test and you do not need to leave
your workplace while it's running.

If you're unsure or something seems off (e.g. smoke, smell, people evacuating), call Munich building emergency number ... or ask at reception immediately.

Worth repeating: Claims of "AI" democratizing anything (coding, creative endeavors, etc) are always BS. The thing locking out people from doing that is not having the time/resources. You want to democratize coding/art/creativity? Give people paid time off to do it and access to infrastructure. Easy

Also: "Collective" implies some sort of collaboration and shared activity. But "AI" is just accumulation by a few powerful. So No. It's not collective but extractive, not knowledge but data, not humankind but the hegemonic western view. Everything in that statement is wrong.

"AI is built on the collective knowledge of humankind." No. Nononononono. It is not built on _knowledge_, it it built on _data_. And not everyone's experiences are available as data, many communities are excluded.

The “human” we compare to AI, though, mistakes the dichotomy. It’s not that AI isn’t human — it is an automation of capitalism, a human imaginary. The opposite of Artificial Intelligence isn’t the human mind, the opposite of AI is a community.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
